A Champion of People
WaTasha Barnes Griffin is a community champion facilitating prevention, community education and awareness, and training programs in youth violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and intimate partner violence. She is the Chief Executive Officer of YWCA Central Indiana, one of the largest crisis emergency shelters in East Central Indiana, providing safe housing for women, children, and teens to rebuild after crisis.
With a bachelor’s degree in social work from University of Iowa, Barnes Griffin has more than 20 years of leadership experience in the human services field, working with non-profit organizations in the areas of homelessness, violence, employment services, and youth education.
WaTasha is a champion of people, bringing all voices to the table in Muncie. She works tirelessly on issues of jobs, housing, and infrastructure in order to make a difference in the community where she was born and raised.
